Equipment

Weapons of Choice

Tenor Trombones: Bach 6 (1939, New York), Greg Black 11C L

Bach 42B (1971, Elkart Open wrap, Thayer valve) Greg Black 5G M

Alto Trombone:  Yamaha YSL-871 (1990) Vincent Bach 12C Mt. Vernon

Bass Trombone: Bach 503BL, Elkart (1986, Open wrap, Shires bell) Wick Heritage 1AL

Euphonium:  Besson (1941 Silver, 4 valve compensation) Wick 4AM Classic

Tuba: Conn 5J (1995, 4 valve,) Schilke 66

Most of my horns are "stock" with a few alterations. Chuck McAlexander of the Brass Lab did a great job on my 42B, opening up the wrap, making me some custom, interchangeable lead pipes and adding a Thayer valve. He also replaced the bell on my 503BL with a 10" bell crafted by Steve Shires. Both Chuck and Steve are terrific craftsmen and did a great job improving already great horns.

My Collection of Horns

As a doubler who performs in many different situations and styles,  I have had to amass a collection of horns that will provide me the options that my career requires.
